Unrefined lacquer is filtered sap from lacquer trees. The sap is milky white, but it gradually turns dark brown when exposed to air.
By overlapping the color of the wood, the finished color is a glossy brown-like color that is unique to lacquer.
It's beautiful as it is, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it gradually becomes more matte as I use it.
