Participatory product planning project "Everybody's Tool"

By looking at "current life" and "manufacturing", we can see "what we really want to use now". What I want to make is a tool that can be used by everyone and is suitable for today's lifestyles.

What the user thinks, not the creator or the seller. It is a pure tool without considering the convenience of distribution and sales. Not for sale, not for decoration, but for everyday use. These things are defined as "folk implements", and the theme of PINT is "to create modern folk implements".

The method for making this "modern folk implement" is this "everyone's tool".

For example, we are recruiting based on a general theme, such as "wiping lacquerware that can be used every day". At this point, the materials, maker, and manufacturing method have been decided, but the detailed specifications have not been decided.

Everyone who participates will be a planning member to create products with this theme. A maximum of 10 people can be recruited, and the project team will meet 3-5 times in total for a short period of time (3 to 6 months) to plan and complete a single product. hands.

If you just make what you want or bring ideas for what you want to use, it will be the same form as the idea solicitation. It is more suitable to make a custom order or to solicit opinions widely on the web. In "everyone's item", we started by studying the materials and manufacturing methods thoroughly, and starting from knowing their strengths, weaknesses, and limitations.

After that, each participant will share scenes of daily life and tool usage. Based on that, we consider the product specifications of the theme. The theme is different each time, but basically, we focus on how good natural materials and traditional manufacturing methods can be used in daily life, how often they appear, and whether they can be used for a long time. .

Products are sold continuously after completion. Instead of making custom-made items, we will sell them as PINT standard items.

By creating things from the user's point of view, we aim to create a cycle in which they can be used in daily life and continue to be made.

This is a new form of manufacturing that PINT considers ideal.
