This time, let's think about wooden vessels that you want to use in your daily life in Matsumoto! So, for the first time, we gathered participants from the theme setting and discussed.
Until now, due to the process of drying wood, we had set the size and theme of the wooden vessel in advance and solicited, but even that was decided by "everyone" of the participants.
As the name suggests, the 0th (#00) planning meeting was held last weekend.
Six people gathered this time.
There was a wide variety of members, with different ages and family structures.
Various opinions were expressed by everyone who participated, making it a very rich and exciting conference.
Thanks to you, the theme of the vessel to be produced this time has been decided.
Five of the six people were people who moved to Matsumoto from other areas and emigrated. Everyone who loves Matsumoto and actively chooses to move to Matsumoto.
It is possible to make comparisons with other regions, and the characteristics of Matsumoto's dining table have come out clearly.
Let me introduce some of them in the order in which they were talked about.
・Nama-soba is lined up in ordinary supermarkets. The variety is abundant and delicious. (I don't think you can find it easily in Tokyo)
・The amount of vegetables has increased. Local vegetables are cheap and delicious, and there are also opportunities for acquaintances to pass on seasonal vegetables.
-Increased amount of fruits. Local fruits are cheap and delicious, and there is also an opportunity to pass on seasonal fruits to acquaintances.
・I eat a lot of pickles. When I go to the homes of the locals, I don't see a lot of it on a small plate, but on a deep medium plate or large plate. (There is an image that Nagano has many pickles, but it seems that the way of eating is also different.)
I'm really just talking about normal meals and dining tables, but just talking like this is too interesting.
The charms and colors of the region exist in places like this rather than local specialties, which is really interesting.
From the points mentioned above, we will enter the stage of thinking about a vessel that can actually be used every day.
Share the characteristics of wood, the advantages of using it as a vessel, and the features of each type of wood together with samples.
On top of that, I thought of a vessel that can actually be used a lot every day.
From the scene of the dining table mentioned above, I decided to think based on vegetables, fruits, and pickles at the daily dining table.
lots of vegetables and fruits.
It seems that everyone usually doesn't have the perfect tableware for serving, so they just use a tableware that they have.
When you have a lot of fruit, you need a large bowl, but ceramics are heavy.
I want a wooden container that has a large capacity, is light, and allows me to enjoy vegetables and fruits beautifully. ! !
So,
"A bowl that can serve salads with plenty of vegetables and lots of seasonal fruits"
to produce.
However, it is not a platter for vegetables and fruits, but an image of the starting point.
In fact, it is assumed that it will be used for various purposes at the dining table every day.
Among the participants was a male student from Shinshu University.
There are not only dining tables with multiple family members, but also many dining tables where people live alone and eat a lot.
At times like that, I used to be like that, but I started to make a lot of one item and eat it.
Stir-fried vegetables, pasta, curry, etc.
This vessel, which is not a plate but has a depth, is definitely useful for such a dining scene.
This time, with the cooperation of Mr. Ogura, a woodturner, we decided to make two sizes.
▼Large size (diameter 24cm x height 4.5cm)
In addition to serving salads and large fruits, curry and pasta are also available.
For example, if you live alone and eat a lot, you can serve it on one plate.
It can also be used as a platter for family side dishes or as a shallow salad bowl.
▼ Small size (diameter 18 cm x height 4.5 cm)
Same depth, smaller diameter.
The large size can be used for large dining table scenes.
Even if you live alone, you can use two plates side by side for two people, or as a family side dish.
It can also be used as a container for pickles.
Horse chestnut tree (domestic material)
We lined up various trees, touched them, and thought about them together.
Compared to other tree species, it is characterized by its luster and the grain of the wood being different one by one.
Pint! is also a popular tree species.
The colors we use in our home are getting deeper and more familiar as we use them.
Compared to other tree species, it has an easy-to-understand and early feeling of growth.
Finished with olive oil.
The appearance of the tree itself, the grain remains as it is.
Of course it remains even with urethane paint, but this was excluded from the beginning. The quality of the wood will be lost.
Olive oil finish can be maintained with edible olive oil at home. Just pour some olive oil into the bowl and wipe it off with a tissue. It's very easy.
It will be a vessel that you want to grow while dating for a long time.
It's been a long time, but in summary,
—————————————————-
Tree species: Japanese horse chestnut
Finish: Olive oil finish
Size: 2 sizes, large and small
Large: Diameter 24cm x Height 4.5cm Small: Diameter 18cm x Height 4.5cm
—————————————————-
I decided so far.
Thank you very much to everyone who participated in #00.
From here on, the details and specifications will be decided by everyone at the "Everyone's Tool 3" main event (outline and recruitment page), which is about to begin.
We are waiting for those who could not participate in #00 to participate from the main event.
From studying trees to thinking about shapes, the contents are different from #00, so don't worry, everyone will start from 1 together.
Let's all come up with Matsumoto's pottery and complete it!
We look forward to your participation.
