Q.When I pour hot water into the Magewappa tumbler cup , small air bubbles come out from the fastening part of the wild cherry skin. What kind of air bubbles are these?
Is the temperature too hot for lacquerware?
A. If the water is not hot (80°C or higher), there is no problem in using it even if you add slightly hot water (about 6 to 70°C).
(Although the scent of lacquer is strong.)
As for air bubbles, wipe lacquer coating is thin and allows some water and air to pass through.
Therefore, when hot water is added, the wood shrinks, and bubbles sometimes appear from the gaps in the lacquer paste.
There are individual differences depending on the part of the tree used.
It is not harmful, but if you are concerned about it, let it cool down a little before pouring it.
