It's a 100% silk stole, but it's a little different from the silk thread fabrics you often see in general. This is an original MITTAN fabric that is woven in a plain weave using threads (made of silk) that are different from the so-called "silk threads" that have a glossy feel for the warp and weft.

Unrefined fine count raw silk is used for the warp. Raw silk is made by collecting several cocoon threads into a single thread, and as the name suggests, it is a low-processing thread because it is not twisted. Ordinary silk thread is twisted to make it easy to weave.
Nasi thread is used for the weft. Nasi refers to the calyx-like part of fruits produced when Indian wild silkworms, Tasar silkworms, hang from trees, and is spun from Nasi at the Shiga factory, which is the only silk spinning factory in Japan.

Even though it is called silk, it has a unique texture that is different from the glossy and smooth texture. Both the weft nasi thread and the warp raw silk thread are stronger than the usual lustrous silk thread, and the hard and crisp feel of the fabric softens with repeated daily wear. Nasi thread is as strong as wool, so it has resilience even after repeated use and does not sag.

Silk has a delicate image, but this is a strong and nurturing material. It's a little stiff at first, but it softens as you use it, and it's strong enough that you can use it without hesitation. Enjoy it for a long time with a way to get along like denim or linen.

The fabric is easy to use in the spring and autumn seasons, but it is also recommended for winter wear. I started using it after asking the staff at MITTAN, but even though it is a little thin, it has a large surface area, and when you use it by wrapping it around, you can create a lot of layers of air, which leads to warmth. It's different from the warmth of wool, but it doesn't feel stuffy, and it's a pleasant warmth. It doesn't look heavy, it doesn't weigh much, and it makes winter dressing fun. Please try it.

You can enjoy it in various ways. It's long enough to be rolled up and hung down, so you can wrap it around or tie it at the back for a casual style. Even if you unfold it and hang it over your shoulder, the texture of this fabric will come alive and give you a different look.
