MITTAN×PINT / Remnant patchwork / OC Garabo / 130×130cm<Size order available>
MITTAN is based on the concept of "modern folk clothes".
Thread and fabric materials, exploration of dyeing, how to make and deliver, repair and dyeing. It is a brand that looks at the way clothes are made and how they should be, and makes clothes with a consistent thought. The clothes are also made without compromise to the details, and like tools, we make clothes that can be used for a long time.
MITTAN and PINT have many overlapping thoughts and ideas, such as "modern folk costumes", "modern folk tools", "use of materials suitable for tools", and "standard craftsmanship". It is a product born from thought.
The scraps that always come out when making clothes. Originally, at MITTAN, we made stoles and mini towels using leftover fabric as patchwork. Sharing this method and leftover fabric, we cut and sew with PINT with the image of the size and patchwork pattern that can be used in the interior scene. Since the cutting is also done by hand according to the scraps, there are differences in the expression due to individual differences in the fabric, the orientation of the fabric, and the size of the scraps, so there are large individual differences.

We use remnants of OC Garabo fabric , a standard fabric from the early days of MITTAN, which is used for other items.
This garabo fabric is made of cotton mixed with organic cotton fallen cotton, and the yarn spun by garabo is used as the weft, and silk spun pongee, which is respun from the parts that cannot be used for silk spinning, such as waste cocoons, is used for the warp. MITTAN original fabric woven with a mountain-shaped twill pattern on a Schonherr loom.
It is a standard and popular fabric among MITTAN, which is used for jackets and coats.
Cut off the remnants from the production of the clothes, A patchwork pattern in strips . Similar to the Khadi patchwork pattern, the Garabo version sometimes contains trapezoids and triangles. The size is approximately 130cm x 130cm. Sizes may vary slightly. The fabric is sewn from uncut fabric, and the edges are also left as they are. Please note that if friction occurs in the sewing area, the thread will fall off for a while. However, in order to reinforce the sewn part and prevent the thread from falling off, the same thread as the sewing is used to double machine stitch the entire circumference. (The photo is an old specification, so there is no double sewing machine stitch.)
The fabric is thick and you can feel the softness of the thread material. It looks like it's good to put it on the sofa and more. (It may be a little heavy to hang, so please try it while adjusting the way you hang it.) Feel free to use it.
There are several types of fabric. The size and shape of the remnants vary depending on the clothes I make, and I cut them to minimize the amount of fabric left over, so I change the patchwork pattern for each fabric.

< MITTAN>
MITTAN proposes modern ethnic clothing based on the history of clothing and fabrics that remain in the world.
By reinterpreting the two-dimensional structure and combining it with the original functionality of natural materials, we aim to create long-lasting clothes that are not bound by the transient trends of the times.
・Production background
MITTAN mainly uses machine-woven textiles from Enshu, Banshu, and Bishu in Japan, as well as hand-woven textiles from Asian countries such as India and Laos.
As much as possible, designers go directly to the machine shop and work on original material development.
In addition, we use mainly cotton thread for sewing threads, and we use natural materials for accessories such as woven labels, quality labels, and buttons, and we sew at partner factories in Japan.
In addition to ordinary dyes, plants, indigo, insects, and minerals are used for dyeing, and the uneven transition of colors is also considered beautiful.
・Social responsibility
Since the establishment of the brand in 2013, we have continued to repair and re-dye it, and we have continued to develop standard products.
In addition, by continuing to convey the background from various aspects, we will bring back the clothes that have gone away mentally and physically to a more familiar existence and lead to continuous wear.
