Clear Pitcher with Blown Glass Lid

A pitcher made with the blown glass method for both the body and the lid.

It has a slim shape so that it can be placed not only on the table but also in the pocket of the refrigerator. I made it with the image of adding water, lemon water, cold tea, herbal tea, etc.

It is also popular to use it at room temperature all day by pouring water in the morning and placing it on the table.

There is a beautiful fluctuation unique to hand-blown glass that is produced one by one.

The main feature is that the same glass material is used for both the body and the lid. Due to the same material and blown glass manufacturing method, it is not tightly sealed. It will be a structure that you can ride on the edge of the main body. Also, you cannot pour with the lid on, so remove the lid when pouring.

Even if you use it without a lid on the table when eating.

Produced by Mr. Manabu Ouchi of Kanbe Glass, which uses blown glass techniques in Oishida Town, Yamagata Prefecture.

The glass material attached to the tip of the iron rod is placed in a kiln, heated at a high temperature, rotated and melted to determine the size and shape. The rotation speed and heating time change moment by moment, but it is the craftsman's world that can be discerned by the sense of eyes and hands. It is made one by one.

Mr. Ouchi made his own kiln. When the fire in the kiln is turned off, the glass material hardens, so the fire in the kiln is always on, except during the summer when the room becomes extremely hot and production is suspended.

There are three colors: "clear", "amber" and "blue". Due to the production environment of the kiln and the melting furnace called a crucible, clear and amber are produced all the time, and blue is produced only during the period before the fire is extinguished before summer.

It's a hard-to-find, handcrafted pitcher. Even just the main body with the lid removed. Please enjoy it in various ways.
