A single oak plate. There are 3 sizes, large, medium and small.
Simple yet exquisitely crafted and finished by a cabinetmaker.
The surface is flat, and the solid wood is shaved as thinly as possible. I don't think it's possible to find a single plate of solid wood with an oil finish that is as thin as this one.
The material used is oak wood. There is a reason why it has to be oak to achieve this thinness.
The reason for the birth of this plate was that I was asked to make a wooden plate for eating bread or ham at a picnic scene when I could not find it. It was meant to be a flat plate that could be used not only outside, but also inside the house every day, and on which food and cups could be placed.
It's true that there were almost no such things when I searched for them.
When I consulted Mr. Shimizu, a furniture craftsman, it was natural that it was hard to find, and because it was made thin, it was a weak shape that was very easy to warp.
Using a single piece of solid wood and finishing it with oil, we began prototyping how thin and light it could be, with a simple structure and shape, and how easy it could be to use. While adjusting the thickness of the prototype, based on Mr. Shimizu's advice, we came to the conclusion that oak was the only wood available.
Until now, there were no PINT products made of oak. it is suitable.
The result is a thin plate of solid oak.
It's a very simple shape, but that's why we paid attention to details and design. The thinness of the material is also characteristic, but even in that thinness, the sides are cut inward. This makes it easier to hold, and at the same time, it looks beautiful and light as if it were floating when placed.
The shape and thinness, and the accuracy of the production and finish, make it a plate with a dignified atmosphere.
Even if you put sweets on it or serve appetizers. The flat surface allows you to place a glass or ceramic plate on top.
I would be happy if you could use it in various situations.
