MITTAN is based on the concept of "modern folk clothes".
Thread and fabric materials, exploration of dyeing, how to make and deliver, repair and dyeing. It is a brand that looks at the way clothes are made and how they should be, and makes clothes with a consistent thought. The clothes are also made without compromise in detail, and like tools, we make clothes that can be used for a long time.
A fabric that uses two types of hemp, flax (linen) and ramie (ramie) blended yarn spun in Japan for the warp and weft. Although it is hemp, it is densely woven with thick thread, giving it a firm and thick feel. When it comes to hemp material, many people imagine it for summer, but I think the thickness of this fabric is suitable for three seasons other than summer. By mixing flax and ramie, the sagging feeling of flax is suppressed, and the fabric has a unique texture. You can also enjoy the aging unique to hemp.
It has a slightly stronger taper and has a neat silhouette for the thickness of the fabric. Since it is a heavy fabric, it has a belt loop to withstand its own weight, but it can be worn without a belt because of the elastic waist and the organic cotton string inside. If you want to wear it neatly, it is just the right size, and if you want to wear it a little thicker and more voluminous, you can choose one size larger. If it is one size larger, you can wear it just by adjusting the elastic at the waist and the string, so please choose how you want to wear it.

MITTAN clothes are designed and repaired on the premise that they will be worn for a long time, not just for one season, even when the fabric is worn out. See here for details of the fix.

[Handling and care]
*There are knots and unevenness in the threads that are unique to natural materials. This is because we use raw materials with uneven fiber lengths, focusing on the texture, so please consider it as part of the expression. Be careful not to pull the knots of the thread forcibly, as it may break the threads of the fabric and create holes.
*Dyed in a dark color. Please refrain from combining with light colors to avoid color transfer. To prevent color fading, use drymark detergent and dry in the shade. Due to post-production processing, each item may vary slightly in color and size.

MITTAN proposes modern ethnic clothing based on the history of clothing and fabrics that remain in the world.
By reinterpreting the two-dimensional structure and combining it with the original functionality of natural materials, we aim to create long-lasting clothes that are not bound by the transient trends of the times.
MITTAN mainly uses machine-woven textiles from Enshu, Banshu, and Bishu in Japan, as well as hand-woven textiles from Asian countries such as India and Laos.
As much as possible, designers go directly to the machine shop and work on original material development.
In addition, we use mainly cotton thread for sewing threads, and we use natural materials for accessories such as woven labels, quality labels, and buttons, and we sew at partner factories in Japan.
In addition to ordinary dyes, plants, indigo, insects, and minerals are used for dyeing, and the uneven transition of colors is also considered beautiful.
Since the establishment of the brand in 2013, we have continued to repair and re-dye it, and we have continued to develop standard products.
In addition, by continuing to convey the background from various aspects, we will bring back the clothes that have gone away mentally and physically to a more familiar existence and lead to continuous wear.
