Introducing Cotomono, a new creator.
Pop-up events were held at stores in Kyoto in November 2021 and October 2022. After the first event, we introduced some products only at the actual store, but after finishing the second event the other day, we decided to start selling them at the web shop as well.
I was introduced to Cotomono by a mutual acquaintance, Mr. Nakata, a photographer from Fushimi photo studio .
Until then, there were no plans to handle new cloth accessories genres such as bags, but Cotomono went beyond the so-called cloth accessories and bags, or rather, without such a boundary. I got the impression that they were making something completely different from the so-called bags.
There is no mold, and there is freedom of the user.
The ideas and sensations obtained by deep diving are expressed in the form of objects and created. Everywhere in that flow, he was a maker with a certainty and supple strength.
I was fascinated by the balance between the softness of the cloth, which is the main material, and the brightness and joy of the use of colors and patterns, but also with such a sharp and sharp atmosphere.
Until now, Cotomono has continued to make bag-like shapes, including bags, mainly using cloth materials. After that experience, I arrived at this "Triangle Wear".

The photo on the product page was taken by the Cotomono artist himself as a model, and was taken with PINT at the first event (photographed by Ryo Nakatsuji) . It is also used on the Triangle Matou website and leaflets. The freedom and enjoyment of wearing triangles, and the comfortable tension that made my spine stretch a little, filled the space through the members who were there. It was a pleasant and mysterious time where I felt the power of things.
The “triangle wear” has both Japanese and Western atmospheres, and does not make you feel the boundaries of age or gender, due to the balance of the shape and the patterned materials of the fabric.
In terms of perspective and construction, it is an oriental, unconventional item, so it changes its shape according to the shape of the body, like Japanese clothes.
And depending on how you wear it, how you wear it, how you hold it, and what you wear with it, you can show a wider range of expressions.
