The woodworking works of Miyazaki Makoto (Jamunchi) , who usually introduce wooden spatulas, server spoons, and plates in the webshop. Although it has not yet been published, we have also produced a cutting board, which will be introduced in the near future.
During this period, we will have a large number of Miyazaki's works that are not normally handled and will be exhibited and sold in one place. (We accept some made-to-order products.)
He lives in an old private house in Kishiwada, Osaka Prefecture, and uses a part of it as a workshop for woodworking. Rather than furniture, small items such as wooden spatulas are the main items, and that is why I am fascinated by the detailed and careful making and finishing. We make wooden tools that you can pick up and use every day. It's beautiful to look at, but it's not just the beauty of the shape, but the most fitting expression is that it feels comfortable in the palm of your hand. Subtle angles carved by hand, irregularities left by faint scraping marks, and an oil-based finish that emphasizes the texture of innocence. You can feel the texture and warmth of the wood, but it has a simple and minimalist appearance. It seems that the wooden spatula is also used in restaurants. I have several wooden spatulas, but this one is the one I use the most. It is such a wooden spatula.
Some of the items we usually handle are original items that Mr. Miyazaki produced in consultation with Mr. Miyazaki. "Yuki", a wooden object that can be held, chopsticks, tableware, etc. On weekends, Mr. and Mrs. Miyazaki are also present. The two of them usually exhibit at handicraft fairs and craft fairs, and tell their customers directly. I hope you will enjoy talking with me as well.
