[Kyoto store] 2019.7.13 (sat) - 8.4 (sun) yohaku・huis POPUP

At the Kyoto store, we will hold 2 brand POPUPs, yohaku and huis.

▼yohaku

This is the annual yohaku exhibition, summer 2019.

Yohaku specializes in cut-and-sew, and summer is its best season. The latest yohaku lineup includes T-shirts, dresses, pants, and more. The charm of yohaku's clothes is the comfort that "I always pick up clothes in the morning when I choose clothes". The threads, fabrics, patterns, and stitching all look simple, but they're designed to be easy to wear, and the price is reasonable. This is a very difficult thing to do, but it is possible because of yohaku's unique way of thinking and making.

This time, we will be holding a talk with Mr. Watanabe, the representative of yohaku (details and how to book are at the bottom). About yohaku's clothing making, thread and fabric, cut and sew, apparel, what Mr. Watanabe is thinking about now, and so on. Tea and sweets are served, and the table has a relaxed atmosphere, so questions are most welcome, or even just asking. Not only yohaku fans, but also those who are interested in apparel and those who are involved in making things, I think it will be full of stimulation. Sweets and tea are Mr. Mürmül.

▼huis

I first met huis (house) through yohaku. A brand based in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. We make shirts, dresses, skirts, etc. using the fabric called Enshu Textile, one of Japan's leading cotton textile production areas. There are both ladies' and men's.

Enshu Orimono also has various machines and fabrics, but the fabric used in huis is a special fabric among them. It is a fabric woven with an old-fashioned shuttle loom, which is also used for PINT's linen fabric. It is very difficult to weave thin threads and thin fabrics, so it is generally used for thick fabrics with thick threads such as canvas and denim. Compared to modern looms, it takes longer, isn't as stable, and is much less productive, but the shuttle loom produces the unique texture of the fabric. At huis, we use fine-count fabric woven with a shuttle loom. Both cotton and linen fabrics with a high density of threading have a very good texture after aging. A fabric that is fun to grow.
